Terms of Service

These terms form the contract between you and Finite Bean governing your use of The Bean (the "Service"). The contract begins as soon as you create an account or otherwise start using the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to either, please don't use the Service.

The Bean is separate from the Finite Bean Math Tutor app, with its own account system. You can have a The Bean account without a Math Tutor account, and using one doesn't require the other. Both products are run by Finite Bean CIC.

The Service

The Bean is a free social space for connecting with friends, sharing math notes and wins, and joining live rooms. It requires a free account to post, comment, react, or join live rooms.

Eligibility and accounts

If you're under 16, you can't create your own account. A parent, guardian, or school must create it on your behalf and agree to these terms for you — see the "Children's privacy" section of our Privacy Policy for how that works.

• You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account.
• You must give an accurate email address.
• One account per person — don't create accounts to impersonate someone else.
• Tell us right away if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

• Be kind. Bullying, harassment, hate speech, or targeting other users isn't allowed.
• Don't post anything unlawful, misleading, or intended to deceive other users.
• Don't attempt to interfere with The Bean's operation or access it in unauthorised ways.
• Don't scrape, copy, or republish other users' content without their permission.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give us permission to store and display it within The Bean so it can be shown to the people you're sharing it with (friends, or people in the same live room).

Intellectual property

The Bean's design, branding, and underlying code belong to Finite Bean CIC. You're welcome to use the app as intended, but not to copy or resell it.

Limitation of liability

The Bean is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finite Bean CIC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of The Bean. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, this does not remove any mandatory protection given to you by the law of your own country.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as The Bean changes. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
